Working group

The Working Group support the Academy of Excellence in Customer Care (AECC) to achieve its overall objective to:

Develop the potential of people and achieve standards of excellence in the service industry, making Liverpool a welcoming city to do business, work, live and visit.

The Working Group is a dedicated joint working forum and comprises of key partners with responsibility for employment, skills development and organisations representing the interests of the service sector.

The aims of the Working Group are to:

  • identify opportunities for improving and maintaining the highest standards of customer care in Liverpool City Centre
  • develop and continually monitor the effective delivery of the Professional Customer Care Programme
  • assist in the development of the Professional Customer Care Programme, sharing responsibility for the organisation and judging process
  • develop opportunities for networking and the exchange of best practice amongst key partners
  • develop initiatives to promote the industry as a positive career option
  • monitor the projects Equal Opportunities Strategy
  • make recommendations for project development

The Working Group acts in an advisory capacity to the AECC team to ensure its aims are met at an operational level.

Members are required to represent, promote and communicate issues, events etc. to and from any relevant organisations that they are already networked with to ensure that information is distributed as widely as possible.

Members of the Working Group are required to attend a monthly meeting and undertake any agreed action points. If members are unable to attend they will send a briefed representative. This meeting will be co-ordinated by the AECC team who will act as secretary to the group.
